Here's New is an independent release directory. It records when things are released, updated, restocked, retired or scheduled — across software, hardware, entertainment, consumer products, corporate and economic events, and community programmes — and keeps those records in a searchable chronological archive with a link to the primary source for every entry.

It is not a news site. We do not report on releases, review them, rank them or tell you which ones matter. The product is the record itself: a date, a version, what the source said, and a link to where they said it. That is a deliberately narrow scope, and everything below explains why.

Why a directory and not a feed

Release information is abundant and badly organised. It exists — vendors publish release notes, agencies publish calendars, regulators publish effective dates — but it is scattered across thousands of pages in incompatible formats, and it is written to be read once, on the day, and then scrolled past.

That works for announcements and fails for everything with a deadline attached. An end-of-support date, a raffle closing time, a deprecation cut-off and a compliance obligation all share the same structure: they are published once, months ahead, and they matter later. A feed shows them at the moment of least relevance. A dated directory shows them when the date approaches.

So the organising principle here is the date, not the story. Every entry has one, entries with future dates stay visible until they pass, and nothing is deleted once it has happened.

What we actually publish

Original category guidance
Each of the thirty-three categories in the directory has an editorial page explaining what that category tracks, which events within it carry real consequences, and how its release conventions work. This is written by us, not aggregated.
Long-form guides
Explanatory articles on versioning schemes, advisory triage, economic calendar structure, lifecycle deadlines and release-date practice. Also written by us.
Indexed release records
Dated entries derived from public sources, each carrying the source's own wording where quoted, a link to the original, and normalised taxonomy fields so they can be filtered and exported.

Tools built on top of the record

  • Filtering across six domains, thirty-three categories, six event types and a tag vocabulary, with full-text search over titles, descriptions and version strings.
  • Watchlists and category subscriptions for signed-in users, with optional browser push notifications.
  • Open export of any filtered view as JSON, CSV, RSS or ICS — the calendar export in particular exists so deadlines can live where you already look.
  • An offline-capable progressive web app, installable on desktop and mobile.
  • Aggregate views showing release volume and distribution across the directory over time.

How this is funded

Here's New is free to read, with no paywall and no account required to browse. It is funded by display advertising and by paid sponsored listings submitted through the directory.

Sponsored listings are always labelled as sponsored, are visually separated from indexed release records, and are moderated before appearing. No advertiser or sponsor has any influence over what appears in the directory, how entries are categorised or prioritised, or what is written in the guides. We do not accept payment to include, promote, reorder or remove a release entry, and there is no arrangement under which we could.

Independence and affiliation

Here's New is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by any of the vendors, publishers, manufacturers, agencies or organisations whose releases are indexed here. All product names, logos and brands are the property of their respective owners and are referenced descriptively for identification only.
