Game Releases, Patches & Console Updates
Launch dates, major patches, seasonal content, console system software and the delays that reshape release calendars.
A modern game has a longer post-launch life than pre-launch, and the release calendar reflects that. The launch date is one event among many: day-one patches, seasonal content drops, balance updates, expansion releases and eventually the final update before a title goes into maintenance. For live-service titles the patch cadence is the product.
Console system software runs on its own schedule underneath all of this, and it occasionally matters a great deal — a system update that changes storage behaviour, adds a codec or deprecates an online feature affects every game on the platform at once. It is easy to overlook because it arrives as a silent background update.

What matters most here
Season end dates are deadlines dressed as content. A live-service season has a closing date after which progress resets, rewards become unobtainable and the storefront rotates. That date is published at the season's start and then rarely mentioned again, which makes it the classic case for a dated record rather than an announcement feed.

Common questions
Do you track early access releases?
Yes, as distinct events. An early access launch and a subsequent full release are two dates for the same title, and conflating them loses the year or more that often separates them.
Are patch notes reproduced in full?
No. We record the version, the date and a summary, and link to the publisher's own notes. Full patch notes belong on the publisher's page where they stay current.
