This policy explains what cookies and similar technologies Here's New uses, what each is for, and how to control them. It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy.

What these technologies are

Cookies are small text files stored by your browser. We also use local storage, which works similarly but is not transmitted with every request. Both are used to remember state between visits — that you are signed in, that you prefer a dark theme, that you have made a consent choice.

Essential storage

These are required for the site to function and are set without consent because the service cannot be provided without them.

Authentication tokens
Issued by Supabase Auth to keep you signed in between visits. Cleared when you sign out.
Theme preference
Stores whether you chose light or dark mode.
Consent record
Stores your advertising cookie choice so we do not ask again on every page.
Offline cache
The service worker caches pages and assets so the app works offline. This is storage rather than tracking and contains no personal identifiers.

Advertising and measurement cookies

These are set by third parties to fund the site and are not essential.

Google AdSense and partner vendors
Used to select and deliver advertisements, limit how often you see the same ad, measure ad performance and detect click fraud. Where personalisation is permitted, these may use your prior visits to this and other sites.
Stripe
Set only during a checkout flow, for transaction security and fraud prevention.

In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland these are set only after you consent. Elsewhere they may be set by default, and you can still opt out using the controls below. Declining does not remove advertising; it makes it non-personalised.

How to control cookies

  • Use the 'Cookie settings' link in the site footer to review or change your choice at any time.
  • Opt out of personalised Google advertising at adssettings.google.com.
  • Opt out of participating third-party vendors at aboutads.info and youronlinechoices.eu.
  • Block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies will sign you out and lose your preferences; blocking advertising cookies will not affect how the site works.

Do Not Track

There is no consistent industry standard for responding to Do Not Track browser signals, so we do not respond to them. We do respond to Global Privacy Control signals where your browser sends them, treating them as an opt-out of sale or sharing of personal information.

Changes

If we add or remove a technology described here, this page and the date at the top of it will be updated.
